A company called Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC) has announced the launch of new QR Code Wristbands to one of it’s product lines. The new wristbands will allow venues and events to communicate with their guests in innovative ways that have not been possible in the past. The wristbands will feature a QR Code displayed to be scanned by customers, when they do so they will be taken to a website URL, or given an opportunity to connect socially with the marketeers. With the huge number of visitors wearing these wristbands to events, there is a phenomenal opportunity to converse with customers in new ways.
”The point is to engage consumers by giving them something they want, whether it’s timely information related to the event they’re attending, discounted admission for their next visit, downloadable media, etc.,” said Edwin Baljeu, Sales and Marketing Manager for PDC. “Why not take your biggest fans and incentivize them with a special offer tied to your QR code and website to share their experience with their social network on Facebook or Twitter. Venues and events are already applying wristbands to their guests, but now they can use those wristbands as tools of engagement. It’s another medium for marketing, plus it’s easy to track and report responses.”
PDC’s QR Code Wristbands are well designed with bright colors along with the code for consumers to scan, allowing venues and events to create brilliant branding and marketing ideas easily. Personally I think this is a great way to communicate with individuals and companies like. What do you think? Do you own a small business and would you consider something like this?

For small business? I don’t think it is cost effective. But big event producers should definitely should look into this new wave of marketing. It is a pretty cool souvenir.
The picture of above reminds me of a hospital band. It will be nice if they can incorporate the QR code on a baller or something.
Sounds a lot better than some great sweaty hulk of a bouncer stamping a fluorescent tag on your arm and then trying to throw you out when it’s rubbed off in the press of bodies.
Or is that just in cheltenham?
Well, this is rather an interesting and fascinating idea. Although they can make the band look a little better, and it could still use a little improvement, I think this will be pretty useful.
